Brandon has always had his powers, and he uses them very much when it comes to relating to people and understanding them. So Jimmy is constantly a surprise to him. Jimmy is as much a mystery to Brandon as he is to everyone else in a way, even though Brandon knows him best.

Thanks for commenting! The Lunar Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00300943457749354465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-61138588535217281122012-04-07T19:51:45.853-07:002012-04-07T19:51:45.853-07:00I can't believe I didn't read this earlier...I can't believe I didn't read this earlier! In any case, I love seeing Brandon and Pat together, even during a situation like this. I love the little details that tell so much--her hesitation to accept his kiss because she wasn't sure she should enjoy it, etc. It's interesting to me that Rita sees Brandon as someone who is good for her daughter--she probably thinks Pat is too closed-off in many ways.

I love how a portion of this chapter shows that Brandon can still be surprised by Jimmy. He's truly taken aback by his treatment of Rita, and those times that Jimmy spent with Rita are closed off to Brandon. It's something he has to glean indirectly.

Love this!Rachelhttp://simstoriesbyrachel.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-21422971001301823842012-02-11T18:52:20.052-08:002012-02-11T18:52:20.052-08:00Don't even worry. He could refuse and fight it all he wants, but in the end will that really help? This is something I've touched on with Jimmy and Mary too. She came to the same conclusion in one of her chapters-- that Jimmy didn't have a choice in his path anymore than she did.

Thank you, Beth. The Lunar Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00300943457749354465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-1376894047390876982012-02-11T12:02:58.125-08:002012-02-11T12:02:58.125-08:00I'm only sorry I put off reading this because ...I'm only sorry I put off reading this because I thought it would be hard to respond to and I haven't had a lot of stuff in my brain to work with. It's not. Love in the savanna, in the ruin, in the wreck of the world, but what they have matters. Brandon's reluctance to join Jimmy is pretty much close to heartbreaking. Does he have a choice?

This is one of the most 'in love' pieces I think I've read from you. I love it. And who cares about the illustrations.S.B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15236399168777815648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-17948542740569182492012-02-08T10:59:29.246-08:002012-02-08T10:59:29.246-08:00I'm glad you liked it because man, I felt a li...I'm glad you liked it because man, I felt a little trepidation at its length and lack of pictures. It's still really difficult to get pictures of sims laying side by side. And in my head, I always see these two laying on the grass next to each other.

I imagine that Brandon has a lot of trouble catching Pat's thoughts. He's always noticing how fast they move. In earlier entries, he mentions how there's a buzzing of her thoughts around her. I think his power is highly imperfect in that way.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Carla! :)The Lunar Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00300943457749354465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-1856435219020782232012-02-07T17:44:26.968-08:002012-02-07T17:44:26.968-08:00Accident, my bum! But I like how they both left it somewhat unsaid anyway.

I loved the whole conversation between Brandon and Pat after they went off together too (and also that it was long, because it meant there was more for me to read :D).

"What makes you think I haven't already? It's been months since you've actually talked to me."
Teenage bravado or the truth? Obviously Pat was trying to figure it out as well.

Interesting that Brandon couldn't catch any of Pat's thoughts though. Too soft and then too fast...almost like when you can't understand what someone has said because they spoke too softly or too quickly!Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09140819019098738245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3322342997539658469.post-15469705389636745542012-02-07T06:28:09.827-08:002012-02-07T06:28:09.827-08:00This is one of those posts where I had it all writ...This is one of those posts where I had it all written out, and then I took the pictures for it. The conversation is mostly the same, but I changed their actions in the scene.

Writing-wise, I've been going through a slump and beating myself up over it. It happens. Time to carry on and work on the next update! The Lunar Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00300943457749354465noreply@blogger.com
